Local Country Markets
Local Mary Valley markets are held in Imbil every Sunday and Gympie markets are held either at the Gympie South State School or Gold Mining Museum on the Bruce Highway, Gympie on alternative Sundays. The Country Market has over 200 market stalls and is a great opportunity to sample farm fresh produce, buy local arts and crafts, home cooking and grab a bargain. Mary Valley and Gympie markets are a great place to grab your fruit and veg for the week - or for a morning out in the sun. |

Whale Watching
Each year humpbacks migrate from the Southern Ocean to their northern breeding grounds and back again. It's a huge trip - about 12,000 kilometres. During this migration they don't feed at all yet they have enough energy to calve and mate. During the southern migration from mid-August to October/mid-November the whales enter Hervey Bay in large numbers which is a 90 minute drive from Amamoor Lodge. Mooloolaba Whale Watching is a 60 minute drive. This event has led to the development of a thriving whale watching industry in the area. Australia Zoo Whale Watching
